Susan Thornton
Editor of San Antonio Woman Magazine
Susan is an inspiration to us all here at the magazine and an advocate for all women here in San Antonio. Before coming to San Antonio Woman, Susan worked in education for 26 years as a teacher and guidance counselor. Making a career change and reinventing herself has been exciting for Susan. Her experience working with people, listening to their stories and advocating for them has served her well as an editor.
Throughout her time at San Antonio Woman, her favorite part of the job is meeting the amazing women featured in the magazine, “Women in San Antonio blaze trails for others, bringing innovation, collaboration, and community to our city. They juggle careers and businesses with family, charity, and so much more. It is truly an honor to meet and connect with so many incredible women, and San Antonio is full of them!”
Her plans for the future focus on spotlighting more women and continuing to build a platform to share their stories, celebrate their success, and empower one another.
Her absolute favorite pastime is spending time with her family, “Nothing makes a momma happier than having all of her chicks in one place.” She recently welcomed a new grandbaby, Rhyter, who they drive up to Temple to visit whenever possible, sometimes even just for the night to give her son and daughter-in-law a well-deserved date night.
